ABOUT

Choreography hasn't always been a part of my career plan. Originally all i wanted to be was a dancer, because i felt i wasn't creative enough. Thankfully, i made the decision to study Dance and Choreography at university after my first year of being introduced to exactly what choreography was.

Within my years at Falmouth University i created several pieces for grading as well as separate pieces in my free time. My favourite piece that i have created was based on the music by WoodKid - 'Run Boy Run'. It was a site based piece with the added visual of coloured powder. I adored this piece and am aiming to recreate it in the near future.

I also take on the more non-traditional choreography. For example during university, instead of creating choreography as such, along with a fellow student we created an installation. This was a live action, interactive piece that wasn't necessarily choreography, but is something i am extremely proud of. It involved myself sitting in a space, topless, with my back to the audience, allowing them to write, draw and touch my back. It was all about the connection with the audience with a certain vulnerability.

Thanks to a module i completed while at university, i also enjoy choreographing for the screen. Again, not necessarily choreography as in dance, but thinking about each cut on screen and the objective of what is happening on screen. If you watch 'Journey of the Hands' you'll get more of an idea of what I am talking about.

Now that i understand the basics of creating a successful piece of work, i have a list of ideas i need to work through. So i am always looking for dancers to bring my ideas to life.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to be a part of one of my pieces, or would like a piece choreographed i.e. wedding dances, showcases, etc.

I am currently a dancer in training, so not quite a professional just yet, but i am aiming to concentrate on choreography, so training isn't on the top of my list, but spending almost 6 years concentrating on dance has helped me to develop my personal style and improve my technique.

I started out with simple street dance classes within my community and took dance for GCSE. Following my schooling years i studied dance and performing arts at college (The SPACE), which gave me the experience of performing on stage continually throughout the two years. Ranging from dance platforms, verbatim, musicals and site specific. This was one of the main chapters in my life that increased the passion i have for dance.

After completing college, it was time to start a new chapter in my life - University. I did two years of study at Falmouth, concentrating on Dance and Choreography. The first year was mainly focused on my dance training, i.e getting my fitness up to the standards it needed to be and concentrating on dance technique, seeing as i had no previous dance training as such. Unfortunately i didn't grow up doing ballet, tap, jazz etc. Only small community classes in the local YMCA. So this time in my life was where i needed to make up for lost years of training.

I am looking to develop my dance training even further in the near future. Planning to take ballet, tap, jazz, modern, street, pole, ariel and silk classes to expand my dance knowledge. Unfortunately finance becomes an issue, so right now all these plans are on hold.

I am currently out of training, due to finishing university and having to deal with real life and adult responsibilities - i will soon be back on track!

I am a keen amateur photographer looking to build up my portfolio and experience in various photography styles.

I have always had a passion for photography and began with a digital camera taking photographs of my personal jewelry, stuffed toys, clothing and shoes - not quite professional. My dad picked up on my interest for photography and later invested in a Nikon D3100, which increased my passion and knowledge surrounding photography.

After using friends and family as models to help experiment with my camera, my skills naturally began to increase.

My dad has been such a key factor to my photographic career; suggesting to try out different types of photography such as landscape and nature giving me a wide range of styles.

During College and University i constantly volunteered to take photographs of rehearsals, and shows. Trying to achieve the combination of my two main passions - Dance and Photography.

I had the amazing opportunity to work with a professional photographer: Clayton Jane. He gave me loads of advice on how to capture the images i wanted and even suggested new equipment, which i got in the end. I always refer back to his work and have followed his advice to achieve the perfect image.

I have had experience photographing live events, shows, weddings and nature as well as amateur models,

I am always looking to add to my portfolio, so if you or anyone you know needs a photography don't hesitate to enquire about pricing.
