CHOREOGRAPHY

RUN BOY RUN

Choreographer: Jade Gray.

Dancers: Angus Capel, Carly Brown-Martin, Daisy Nash, Fran Northcott, Harley Bateman, Helen Lamb, Holly Jones, Holly Taylor, Megan-Bethany Walsingham, Sophie Ballard.

Photography/Filmography: Emi Stevenson

Music: Woodkid - Run Boy Run.

This piece originally came from the idea of wanting to use coloured powder within a site piece. Keeping that idea in mind, i cam across the song 'Run Boy Run' by Woodkid and immediately knew this was the song for the powder.

All movement was based on the music and the visual concept of coloured powder being thrown.

I am hoping to recreate this piece in the future in a different location, when it is darker, and with more time to allow myself and my dancers to get the movement perfect.

ENJOY YOUR WORRIES

Choreographer: Jade Gray.

Dancers: Lucy Hartland-Mann, Lee Collard.

Photography/Filmography: Jade Gray.

Music: The Books - Enjoy Your Worries.

The music is the key inspiration for this piece, i loved how different it was and that it included the element of speech.

This is the second attempt and creating this piece of choreography, the first time was while at university, preparing it for a showcase. Unfortunately, due to coursework and classes, both the dancers and I were unable to perfect the piece in time for the show.

The second time recreating this piece was for a dance competition to help raise awareness for parkinson's disease. To my disappointment, we did not win, nor get mentioned, but it gave me the opportunity to work on some choreography again after university.

I began with six dancers, and unfortunately dropped to two dancers, which was a huge challenge, but the final outcome was a beautiful duet.

TOUCH

Choreographer(s): Jade Gray, Carly Brown-Martin.

Performer: Jade Gray.

Photography/Filmography: Jade Gray, Carly Brown-Martin.

Music: Unaccompanied.

This art installation was created for an  assessment at university. I paired up with a fellow classmate and we both wanted to do something completely out of our comfort zone. We were both big girls, and our size was a constant issue when it came to performances, so we just went for it.

It originally was inspired by stereotypes, bullying and harsh words, but after researching into other performances we latched onto the idea of touch, connection and conifdence.

This is one of the proudest pieces i have been a part of, and would love to do something similar in the future.
